Smoking/vaping in public places
Smoking and using e-cigarettes (vaping) is banned in all enclosed public areas and certain outdoor public areas, under the Smoke-free Environment Act 2000 and the Smoke-free Environment Regulation 2016.
Tobacco and/or e-cigarette retailing
Tobacco and e-cigarette retailing laws in NSW regulate the packaging, advertising and display of tobacco products (including shisha), e-cigarettes and e-cigarette accessories, non-tobacco smoking products, and ban the supply of these products to people under 18 years. It is illegal to sell e-cigarettes which contain nicotine unless they are dispensed on a valid prescription.
